President Al-Assad : Iraq’s political stability and security reflects positively on the region

President Bashar Al-Assad affirmed that Iraq’s political and security stability will positively reflect on the region and on Iraq’s role in the next stage.

During his meeting with Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, Head of Hikma National Movement in Iraq, President Al-Assad stressed that Iraq’s political and economic role in the region is essential due to its prominent position historically and geographically and its position in the region.

For his part, Mr. Al-Hakim said that talks with the Syrian leadership serve the two countries, and is a necessity for all countries in the region, stressing that Syria’s overcoming its crisis will have positive results on its neighbors, given the fact that the stability of Syria is the stability of the region in general.

Al-Hakim pointed out that the political openness towards Syria stems from its distinguished role which benefits all countries in the region not only Syria.

He stressed the need to enhance cooperation between Damascus and Baghdad in all files, especially the political and economic ones.
