DAMASCUS, (ST)-President Bashar Al-Assad on Sunday sent a cable of condolences to President Vladimir Putin of Russia over the victims of the Russian plane crashed yesterday in the Egyptian province of Sinai.
President Al-Assad said in the cable “Your Excellency dear friend President Vladimir Putin of Russia, we have received with deep sorrow the news about the crash of the Russian plane which was flying from Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg. We would like to extend to you our deep sympathy and heartfelt condolences on this tragic event.”
H.E. President Al-Assad added that the Syrian people also received the sad news with deep sorrow that expresses the historical friendship which has been linking the Russian and Syrian peoples over decades.
President al-Assad extended the condolences of the Syrian people to families of the victims and to the friendly people of Russia and wished President Putin and the Russian people best wishes and prosperity.
A Russian plane with 224 people on board was crashed yesterday in Egypt. All the passengers were killed.
President Putin Today announced national day mourning in Russia on the victims of the plan crash.
