President Al-Assad congratulates Iranian President-elect Ebrahim Raeisi on winning presidential elections

President Bashar Al-Assad on Saturday sent a congratulatory cable to the Iranian President-elect Ebrahim Raeisi on the occasion of his landslide victory in Iran’s presidential elections.

“It is my pleasure to extend, on behalf of the Syrian people on myself, the heartfelt congratulations to you on getting the confidence of the friendly Iranian people and winning the presidential elections,” President Al-Assad said in the cable.

He wished Raeisi best of luck and success in his new tasks that carry on the course of the Islamic revolution in leading the country towards more prosperity and progress in all domains and that serve the interests of the Iranian people who kept steadfast in the face of all the schemes which aimed at breaking their will and confiscating their independent decision.

President Al-Assad expressed his keenness on working with the new Iranian President for enhancing the Syrian-Iranian deep-rooted relations which have been built on the basis of long decades of historical friendship, mutual respect and understanding and common interests.
