President Al-Assad Congratulates his Chinese Counterpart On being Reelected Communist Party Secretary General

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad on Wednesday congratulated President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping on being reelected as the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party for a second term.

In his congratulation cable, President Al-Assad wished his Chinese counterpart all success and hoped that the Chinese people will enjoy more progress and prosperity.

 He expressed Syria’s willingness to enhance relations between the two countries in general and between the Baath Arab Socialist Party and the Chinese Communist Party in particular  as to achieve the common interests of the two friendly peoples.
