President Al-Assad Congratulates General Michel Oun on Becoming President of Lebanon

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad on Monday congratulated General  Michel Oun on becoming President of Lebanon.

In a phone conversation, President Al-Assad wished  President Oun all success in his new tasks, hoping that the new step would open a new era in Lebanon’s political life that contributes to consolidating Lebanon’s stability and achieving better future for the Lebanese people.

 The Lebanese Parliament members on Monday elected MP General Michel Aoun as President after getting the support of 83 MPs out of 127 ending a two and a half year-power vacuum.
