President Al-Assad chairs a meeting for discussing mechanism of implementing the new consumer protection law
President Bashar Al-Assad on Saturday held a meeting with Prime Minister Hussein Arnous, Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Talal Barazi, Minister of Local Administration and Environment Hussein Makhlouf, Minister of Interior Mohammad Rahmoun and Minister of Justice Ahmad Al-Sayyed to discuss the mechanism of implementing the recently issued consumer Protection Law.
The president called for accurately specifying the responsibilities and authorities of the parties in the committees tasked with controlling trade activities and prices in the markets.
Five days ago, President Al-Assad issued Legislative Decree No. 8 for 2021 which included a new consumer protection law.
According to the decree, the law aims at protecting the rights of the consumers, ensuring the safety of food, controlling prices and preventing fraud and monopoly.
