On April 3rd, President Bashar Al-Assad and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune discussed in a phone call on Monday the political developments in the Arab arena, especially in the light of the visits paid by a number of Arab officials to Syria, and the visits that President Al-Assad paid to Arab countries, uncluding the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
President Al-Assad thanked President Tebboune for the assistance provided by Algeria and the Algerian people to Syria to face the earthquake repercussions
President Al-Assad stressed that the Algerian aid indicates a state of solidarity and great sympathy with the Syrian people, and reflected the deep ties between the peoples of the two countries.
President Al-Assad affirmed that Algeria, which is currently chairing the Arab summit, historically adopted key positions on various issues that were very close to those of Syria, and this reflects the common vision of the two countries over many decades.
In turn, President Tebboune affirmed Algeria’s continuous support for Syria and its constant keenness to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields. He also stressed his country’s readiness to develop economic cooperation for the benefit of the two countries.
President Al-Assad congratulated President Tebboune and the Algerian people on the holy month of Ramadan.
