ALEPPO, Jul.8, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad and Mrs. Asma Al-Assad visited Umayyad Mosque and the shops that have returned to work in the old city of Aleppo.

According to the Facebook account of the Syrian Presidency, the President and Mrs. Asma Al-Assad toured the markets that opened their doors to visitors on the eve of Eid Al-Adha and exchanged Eid greetings with the people of Aleppo, who received them with warmth and love.

The FB account indicated that the Umayyad Mosque in Aleppo is one of the most important historical Islamic monuments, whose restoration is continuing after all the destruction it suffered during the  years of war, and through the paths of the old city markets, which are being revived successively.
