On October 13th, the Lebanese Parliament postponed the presidential election session to next Thursday due to the lack of a quorum.
The National News Agency in Lebanon stated that Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri postponed the presidential election session to October 20, due to the loss of the quorum.
He also called for a session to elect parliamentary committees on October 18.
On September 29th, the parliament failed to elect a president of the republic after no candidate could obtain two-thirds of the votes of the MPs, as 122 MPs out of 128 attended the voting session.
