Police units in Damascus Countryside chase outlawed armed group that aimed at terrorizing citizens and creating chaos in Damascus countryside
Police units in Damascus Countryside Police Command have chased an outlawed armed group in the town of Hafir Al Fawqa, that terrorized the citizens, caused chaos in the area and attacked the police Center in the town. The police forces managed to restore security to the town.
The Damascus Countryside Governorate Police Commander, Major General Suleiman Mahmoud, said in a statement on the Ministry of Interior’s Facebook page: “An outlawed armed group has recently been terrorizing citizens, causing chaos in the region and attacked the Hafir al-Fawqa police station which earlier had arrested the most wanted man in this town, who is involved in various serious crimes.”
Major General Mahmoud added: The police units went to the town to restore security and control the situation directly and confiscated the weapons of armed group used to besiege the police station in the town and terrorize citizens.
