Hama(ST): Retired pilot, Brigadier General Adeeb Ajeeb Al-Jarf, died  as a result of being infected with the Corona virus. He is one of the heroes of the October Liberation War, who shot down 7 planes of the Israeli enemy.

The deceased was born in “Salamiya” in 1946. He is a retired military pilot, a father of three. He began his service as a student pilot officer in 1964, then rose through the ranks and occupied several important military positions.

During his service, he received many honors and praises, including the Medal of the 25th Anniversary of the Founding of the Syrian Arab Army in 1971, the Medal of Training of the Second Class in 1972, the Hero of the Republic in 1973, the Medal of Courage No. 1 in 1974, the Medal of Faithfulness of the Second Class in 1976 and the First Class in 1980, and the Order of Merit of the Second Class in 1980.

Regarding his injury in the battle, he said in one of the previous interviews: “My plane was hit and I jumped with the parachute, which did not help me much because it was also burned. I fell to the ground from a height of 1300 meters and suffered from thirty-five fractures in different parts of my body.”

Regarding his honor, he said: The right decision is more heroic and more dangerous than the battle itself, and the decision of the founding leader, Hafez al-Assad, to declare war on the enemy was a heroism that no other heroism could match. The founding leader, who described us as the living martyrs, granted me the Order of the Hero of the Republic. I am proud to carry it with me to my children and grandchildren, my peaceful city and my country.
