Moscow-(ST)- Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed the need to pursue terrorists firmly and with the greatest possible force.
“No one doubts that the fight against terrorists should be as relentless and tough as possible,” Peskov told reporters Thursday, noting that those who turn a blind eye to the fight against terrorism and who are in one way or another directly or indirectly involved in terrorist activities must have responsibility.
On the other hand, Peskov indicated that his country is considering all options to respond to the West’s actions, including the possibility of reducing the level of diplomatic relations with it, stressing that the decision has not been taken yet.
“This is a usual diplomatic practice for a country facing unfriendly and hostile manifestations,” Peskov said, explaining that “with the increasing collective involvement of Western countries and the United States in the Ukrainian conflict, Russia cannot help but consider different options to respond to such hostile interference.”
Peskov noted that when Western countries openly declare that their main task is to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia on the battlefield, they of course cannot but it requires a response from Moscow.
