People in the occupied Golan: The liberation of Quneitra is confirmation that the liberation of the Golan is coming
The liberation of Quneitra and raising the national flag in its sky 50 years ago constituted an important milestone in confronting the Israeli enemy and in the struggle to restore the occupied Syrian Golan. This is the firm stance of the people in occupied Golan who affirm their continued steadfastness on their land, their struggle to thwart the occupation’s settlement plans and their confidence in liberating every inch of Golan.
Syria always asserts that the occupied Golan is an integral part of its territory and seeks to restore it completely by all the available means guaranteed by the international law as an eternal right that is not subject to bargaining.
On this occasion, The freed prisoner Hisham Shaalan said: “Raising the Syrian Arab flag in the sky of Quneitra is one of our dearest memories which confirm that the Golan will always be an integral part of Syria” .
He stressed that “the liberation of occupied Golan will come no matter how long it takes. Victory is coming, and the steadfastness of the people of the Golan and their adherence to their Syrian Arab identity confirm this fact.”
For his part, Hassan Fakhr al-Din, a Syrian from Golan, asserted that the heroics of the Syrian army and the day on which the Syrian Arab flag was raised in the sky of Quneitra are engraved in the conscience of the people of Golan, who long to roam the streets of the liberated city and restore their memories there.
He indicated that this day is a symbol of struggle and a glimmer of hope that victory is near and the Golan will be restored.
The Israeli occupation destroyed the city of Quneitra days before it was defeated, and did not exclude even hospitals, cemeteries and places of worship that remian a living witness to the barbarism and brutality of the occupation.
