Palestinian Foreign Ministry: Failure to hold Israeli occupation to account internationally undermines  concept of international justice

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the absence of international accountability of the Israeli occupation for its crimes against the Palestinian people undermines  what remains of the credibility of the concept of international justice.

The Foreign Ministry clarified in a statement today, quoted by Wafa Agency, that the international and American silence on the escalation of the occupation and its aggression makes the international community not only complicit, but a partner in the crime. This gives the impression that international law and the concept of international justice are being replaced by the logic of force and the law of the jungle in international relations.

The Foreign Ministry said: “The international community’s abandonment of its responsibilities and obligations towards the defenseless Palestinian people and leaving them prey to the occupation and its war machine is a cheap sale of international law, human rights principles, international legitimacy and its decisions in the market of the powerful, and surrender to the logic and arrogance of force.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the continuous violations and crimes committed by the occupation forces and settler gangs against the Palestinians, the most recent of which was the storming of the occupation forces in the city of Nablus to facilitate the settlers’ storming of Joseph’s Tomb, east of the city, which left dozens of injuries, including children and women, as a result of shooting bullets and poison gas canisters towards the Palestinians.
