Palestinian Education Ministry: More than 15,000 children martyred in the Gaza Strip since the start of Israeli aggression

The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education revealed that more than 15,000 children have been martyred in the Gaza Strip since the Israeli occupation began its aggression on October the 7th , the majority of them school and kindergarten students, in addition to the martyrdom of 64 school children in the West Bank.
Wafa Agency quoted the ministry as saying in a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Child Victims of Aggression, which falls on June 4th  of every year: “The most prominent title of this occasion was ” the children of Gaza”, as they are the major victims of the ongoing occupation’s aggression”.
The Ministry indicated that the occupation destroyed schools and kindergartens, targeted children’s families, killed them, forcibly displaced them, detained them, deprived them of food and health services, not to mention other serious violations, which constitute crimes that violate international norms, conventions, and human rights.
The statement added that since the start of the aggression on the Gaza Strip, 620,000 students have been deprived of going to their schools, and 88,000 students have been deprived of going to their universities, while most of them suffer from psychological trauma and difficult health conditions.
The Ministry called on organizations, international bodies, and institutions defending children and the right to education to put an end to the escalating violations and stop the crimes committed by the occupation against children, students, and educational and academic personnel in the occupied Palestinian territories, and to intervene urgently and immediately to stop the aggression.
