Palestine calls on the international community to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes against the Palestinian people
The Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations Riyad Mansour called on the international community to take immediate action and fulfill its responsibilities and obligations to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its continuous crimes, for more than 300 days, against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip.
He pointed out that the most recent massacre was the one it carried out against the Palestinians in the Al-Taba’een School in the Al-Daraj neighborhood, which houses displaced persons and led to the martyrdom of more than 100 people and hundreds of wounded.
“The world cannot remain indifferent to such brutality and inhumanity, just as the Security Council cannot remain paralyzed waiting for Israel’s decision to suddenly respect international law while continuing to declare its disrespect of the Charter of the United Nations, its resolutions, or any principle of international law”, Mansour said in letters sent on Sunday to both the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Presidents of the Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly.
He stressed the need for the international community to take immediate action to stop this cycle of terrorism, death and destruction that Israel imposes on the Palestinian people, and is trying to impose on the entire region, which constitutes a serious threat to international peace and security.
