On the anniversary of the martyrdom of Ghalia Farhat… The people of the Golan confirm their continuation of the path of resistance and sacrifice
The Syrian citizens in the occupied Syrian Golan renewed their adherence to their homeland and their continuation of resistance and steadfastness in the face of the aggressive practices of the Israeli occupation, as well as their continuation of the path of sacrifice, affirming they are certain that the liberation of Golan is inevitable.
In a statement on the 35th anniversary of the martyrdom of the fighter, Ghalia Farhat, delivered by Asmaa Farhat, the granddaughter of the martyr, during the commemoration today in the occupied village of Beqaatha, the family affirmed that the Golan, which offered sacrifices for Syria, is still committed to the Arab and Syrian identity. The family believed that the sacrifices of the Syrian citizens of Golan will remain the highest and most precious, and the torch of struggle will continue until liberation.
The liberated prisoner Bishr al-Maqt said: On the memory of a precious martyrdom, the meanings of struggle, redemption and giving to the land are embodied, so that these sacrifices converge with the struggle of our Syrian Arab people who defeat terrorism. Al-Maqt stressed that Syria’s victory will not be complete without the liberation of its entire soil, foremost of which is the Golan which is baptized with the blood of the martyrs and the sacrifices of its people as well as the resilience of the Golan captives.
For her part, Asmaa Farhat affirmed that the people of the Golan will remain faithful to their beliefs, loyal to every atom of Syria’s soil, people, army and leadership, stressing that a land that was baptized with the blood of martyrs will only be victorious, and a homeland built on the shoulders of men will only be lofty.
It is noteworthy that the fighter Ghalia Farhat was martyred while participating in a demonstration against the Israeli occupation on this day in 1987, and her body was buried on the 12th of the same month with the participation of thousands of people from the occupied Syrian Golan.
