OIC Warns: Continuous Israeli Occupation Crimes Undermine security and stability in the region

Jeddah – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation called for an immediate halt to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid, warning that the continued crimes of the occupation undermine security and stability in the region.

The final statement issued by the extraordinary meeting at the level of foreign ministers held yesterday in Jeddah explained that the continued aggression and genocide committed by the occupation against the Palestinians in Gaza Strip during 306 days led to the martyrdom and injury of more than 140,000, the majority of whom are women and children, in addition to the displacement of more than two million Palestinians from their homes, stressing the rejection of any attempt to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from their land.

The statement called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and for effective intervention by the UN Security Council to impose an immediate and comprehensive cessation of the Israeli aggression and ensure the delivery of adequate and sustainable humanitarian aid to all of Gaza Strip and provide international protection for the Palestinian people, warning that the continuation of “Israel’s” crimes undermines security and stability in the region.

The statement reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian and Al-Quds issue to the Islamic nation, and the necessity of preserving the Arab and Islamic identity of the city of Al-Quds and the Palestinian sovereignty over it as an integral part of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967 and as the capital of the State of Palestine.

The statement warned of the escalation of colonial settlement, the danger of annexation of the occupied Palestinian land, and the daily violations and crimes committed by the occupation forces and settlers against the Palestinians, their property and their holy sites with the aim of forcibly displacing them, stressing the need to end the occupation and dismantle all settlements.

The statement expressed the OIC’S concern over the increasing brutal crimes and violations committed by the occupation authorities against thousands of Palestinian detainees through the practice of executions, torture, starvation, rape, isolation and enforced disappearance, calling on relevant international organizations to work to release them immediately, ensure their protection and demand an independent investigation into all Israeli crimes and violations against them.
