It was recorded a steady increase in the number of arriving tourists, along with hundreds of thousands of Syrian citizens and expatriates, as there is a large return of Syrian expatriates , despite the difficult circumstances.
Martini explained that the heritage incubator project at Al-Batrani Park, which is located on an area of 2,500 square meters, is a cultural tourism development par excellence, as there are more than 22 rare heritage handicrafts in Lattakia.
He stressed that it is the duty of all concerned parties to cooperate to preserve them, and based on this goal our partnership came with the Lattakia City Council to lay the foundation stone for a heritage incubator and handicrafts market, which includes about 40 shops, an exhibition hall, a training studio, a multi-use hall, and a heritage café.
He also refereed to the importance of the Ugarit project as one of the leading projects in the field of popular tourism which reflects the great interest that the government and the ministries of tourism, local administration and governorates have given to this sector after the decline it witnessed in recent years as a result of the terrorist war and the economic blockade and their negative repercussions on the investment and development aspects.
For his part Engineer Fayez Mansour, Director of the Syrian Transport and Tourism Company, the investing body of the La Plage project, indicated that the new expansion and increase in the number of chalets and suites came within the company’s plan to meet the growing demand and enhance the absorptive capacity after the great demand witnessed by its facilities, in addition to the quality of services, competitive prices, and the qualitative shift represented by the use of Alternative energy in lighting, air conditioning, water heating, etc. throughout the day.
