National afforestation campaign launched in two locations in Lattakia under the title: ” A Plant of Goodness”
The national afforestation campaign, organized by the the National Union of Syrian Students in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform and the civil society, was launched in the Kassab and Umm al-Toyour sites in the northern countryside of Lattakia, with the aim of reforesting a number of sites damaged by the fires.
The campaign, entitled “A Plant of Goodness,” will be held in various governorates, and will continue until the 28th of December, with the participation of about 2,000 students from various branches of the Students Union in public and private universities and institutes, in line with the Union’s vision of the importance of volunteer work. The campaign tends to employ the energies of youth, and engage them in activities that meet the needs of their communities, and contribute to preserving the environment and reducing the effects of climate change in Syria.
