MoU signed between Syria and Armenia on Cultural cooperation

The Higher Institute of Music and the Armenian State Conservatory of Music (Komitas) on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of enhancing cultural cooperation and exchanging experiences.

The memo was signed by Dean of the Higher Institute of Music Adnan Fathallah and the Dean of the Armenian State Conservatory of Music Sona Hovhannissyan after a meeting at the Conservatory ’s building in Yerevan.

The signing event was attended for the Syrian side by the Syrian ambassador to Armenia Nora Arisyan, the third secretary Ahmed Al-Athba, the director of Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts, and the conductor of the Syrian symphony band, Maestro, Misak Baghboudrian.

In a statement, Hovhannissyan stressed the importance of signing this memo, stressing the conservatory’s willingness to cooperate with the Higher Institute of Music at all levels through holding conferences and forums with the aim of exchanging experiences between Syria and Armenia and playing the eastern music on traditional Armenian musical intruments.
