The value of investments in the industrial city of Hasya has reached 385 billion and 914 million Syrian pounds, providing about 28 thousand job opportunities, amid continuous efforts at various levels, to provide the appropriate climate and necessary facilities for investors.
The Director General of the Industrial City of Hasya, Eng. Mohammad Amer Al-Khalil, explained that the number of facilities in Hasya since its establishment twenty years ago until now has reached 1032, including 335 productive facilities and 697 under construction.
Al-Khalil indicated that these facilities are distributed over 5 areas, including 241 sections in the food area, 413 sections in the engineering, 282 sections in the chemical, 54 sections in the textile and 42 sections in the service.
Al-Khalil considered that the growth in the number of investors reflects the extent of the efforts made by the city administration and the administrative and technical facilities provided to attract investments, especially the one-stop shop service, reserving plots via the Internet, and improving the infrastructure, in an embodiment of the appropriate climate provided by the government for investors.
Al-Khalil explained that the percentage of area sold to investors constitutes 70 percent of the total area, stressing that these facilities in the various industrial sectors will have an important role in supporting the national economy through products that will support the local market, in addition to providing foreign currency by exporting the surplus to foreign markets, especially the production of vegetable oils, vegetable ghee, starch, glucose and glucose syrup manufacturing, grinding and milling corn, human medicines, sterile and disinfectant materials, fiber thread manufacturing, perfume and cologne manufacturing, cosmetics and beauty products, fertilizers of all kinds, and plastic products.
Al-Khalil pointed out that the city has contracted to implement a number of infrastructure projects and works, the spending volume of which during the past months of this year amounted to 32.436 billion liras, while revenues for this year so far have reached 27.915 billion liras.
