Mizintsev: More than 143,000 residents of Mariupol were evacuated and 1,800 Ukrainian soldiers were captured
Moscow (ST): The head of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, Lieutenant-General Mikhail Mizintsev, announced that more than 143,000 citizens of Mariupol and 341 foreign citizens have been evacuated, in addition to the families of 1,800 Ukrainian soldiers who surrendered to Russian forces.
Thanks to the measures taken, 143,631 local citizens and 341 foreign citizens were evacuated from Mariupol, as well as the families of 1,844 members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who surrendered.
Mizintsev stressed that all these actions were carried out without any participation of the Kiev authorities, and they indicate that the accusations made by the Ukrainian authorities and Western countries against the Russian forces and the Donetsk Republic are not correct, by placing obstacles in the way of the exit of civilians and not providing appropriate conditions for the surrender of Ukrainian soldiers.
