Ministry of Social Affairs completes 23 international reports to be submitted to ILO

DAMASCUS, Aug.31, (ST)-Today, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor completed 23 international reports that Syria must submit to the International Labor Organization based on its international obligations.

The completion of the reports came at the conclusion of a training workshop held at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in cooperation with the International Labor Organization, and with the participation of representatives of employers and workers from the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Labor Union, and representatives of the Ministries of Health, Justice, Interior, Education, Higher Education, Scientific Research, and the Planning and International Cooperation Authority.

The workshop dealt with the ILO’s procedures guide for preparing international reports, and the formation of work teams to complete the reports correctly.

The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Louay Al-Munajjid, stressed in a speech during the conclusion of the workshop the importance of the efforts of the work team that were devoted to achieving the outcomes of the workshop and fulfilling the obligations of the Syrian Arab Republic in submitting reports on the ratified agreements, and completing them according to a well-studied timetable after they had been accumulated for more than five years since.

He referred to  the role of representatives of the International Labor Organization for the technical and advisory support they provided to build the capabilities of the ministry’s work team, and contribute to transferring their technical expertise to the ministry’s cadres, which contributes to improving the work .
