Ministry of Culture holds a meeting on the restoration of the Archaeological Arch of Triumph in Palmyra

Yesterday, the Ministry of culture hosted a meeting that brought together the parties to the tripartite agreement for the reconstruction of the Archaeological Triumph Arch project in order to reach the implementation of the third stage.

The meeting, which comprised the Ministry of Culture, the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums, the Syria Trust for Development and the Russian Academy of Sciences, briefed the Russian side on the latest developments to secure the requirements of the third stage, including site preparation and the selection of the appropriate quarry and places for collecting and cutting stone near the equipment that the Russian side will secure.

The Minister of Culture in the Caretaker Government Loubana Mushaweh stressed the importance of the project and the keenness of all parties to make it a success and reach the desired goal of the agreement, noting the commitment of each party to its role.

She pointed out that the Syrian side is keen to secure all facilitation and overcome obstacles to make the project a success because of its importance, as it is a prelude to restoration work in the archaeological city of Palmyra, which was damaged by terrorism during the war.
