Minister of Interior discusses with UN Assistant Secretary-General for Safety and Security cooperation relations
The Minister of Interior, Major General Muhammad al-Rahmoun, discussed with the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for Safety and Security Affairs, Onassi Funio Waka, joint cooperation relations and securing support and protection for United Nations staff in Syria.
The Minister of Interior indicated that Syria continues to develop cooperation with international organizations in line with its international obligations, laws and national sovereignty, by providing the necessary facilities to all United Nations organizations and bodies concerned with the humanitarian aspect.
Al-Rahmoun affirmed the Ministry’s keenness to provide support and protection to United Nations staff while performing their humanitarian duties in Syria.
For her part, the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for Safety and Security Affairs thanked Syria for the cooperation and support for all the humanitarian operations the UN is carrying out in Syria.
