Minister of Higher Education, Acting Charge d’ Affairs of the Sudanese Embassy in Damascus discuss academic and research cooperation

During his meeting today with the Acting Chargé d’ Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Sudan in Damascus, Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Hassan, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Bassam Ibrahim highlighted prospects for scientific, research and cultural cooperation between the two countries, in addition to building capabilities and human resources.

Minister Ibrahim pointed to the need to activate and develop the scientific cooperation agreement signed between the two parties regarding scholarships, the exchange of professors, the participation in conferences, the publication in scientific journals, and the establishment of an accurate mechanism for communication in a way that simplifies work procedures and implements them as quickly as possible.

Minister Ibrahim explained the situation of higher education in Syria and the role of educational hospitals in providing educational, diagnostic and therapeutic services to citizens.

In turn, Hassan expressed his country’s desire to develop and enhance cooperation with Syria in all fields, affirming the necessity of coordination with Syrian universities and the Syrian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. He pointed out that education is one of the basic pillars of advancement in society.
