Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad meets with UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad on Monday met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix and the accompanying delegation.

Al-Mikdad stressed that the United Nations should expose the Israeli occupation’s violations and repeated attacks on the Syrian territory and to intervene to put an end to the occupation’s practices against the people in the occupied Syrian Golan.

“Syria will continue to cooperate and provide the necessary facilitations to the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the occupied Syrian Golan,” Al-Mikdad said.

He affirmed Syria’s legitimate right to restore occupied Golan, condemning the heinous crime committed by the occupation forces on Saturday in town of Majdal Shams.

For his part, Lacroix hailed the facilitation provided by the Syrian government, referring to the role of the UN peacekeeping operations in enhancing international peace and security.
