Deputy Chairman of the Russian National Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, warned that the supply of weapons to Ukraine by NATO countries increases the risk of a direct clash between the alliance countries and Russia, and this clash will turn into a nuclear war.
“The fact that NATO supplies Ukraine with weapons, prepares its forces to use Western equipment, sends mercenaries and conducts maneuvers near our borders increases the possibility of direct and open conflict between NATO and Russia rather than proxy war,” Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel.
He stressed that “such a conflict always risks turning into a full-fledged nuclear war and constitutes a catastrophic scenario for everyone.”
