Washington (ST): More than two hundred progressive human rights organizations in the United States of America and a number of members of the Syrian and Arab community participated in a protest in Washington to demand the lifting of the siege and an end to the unjust sanctions imposed on the Syrian people.
The Syrian expatriate residing in New York, Dr. Hossam Al-Samman, explained in a statement that the demonstration took place in coordination with more than two hundred progressive American human rights organizations to demand the lifting of the siege and unjust sanctions imposed on the Syrian people, which hindered facing the repercussions and effects of the devastating earthquake, in addition to denouncing the illegal presence of American forces on the Syrian territory and demand a complete withdrawal.
Al-Samman pointed out that the demonstration started in front of the White House in Washington. The demonstration included a speech by the Arab-American Committee for the Defense of Syria, delivered by Johnny Al-Ashi, in which he referred to the crimes of siege and looting that America is carrying out in Syria, through its occupation of an important part of Syria and its plundering of its resources, calling on the White House to end the siege and withdraw from Syria immediately.
