Marking the Syrian Arab Army Day, the Russian Coordination Center in Syria and the Syrian-Russian Peace Center in Ashrafieh Sahnaya in Damascus have recently taken the initiative to honor outstanding students and distribute humanitarian aid to the families of martyred army personnel, and the wounded soldiers who offered great sacrifices in defense of the homland’s dignity and strength.
General Ignacy Ignacyug from the Russian Coordination Center said in a speech that “Syria celebrates the foundation anniversary of the Syrian Arab Army on August 1, which is a national occasion that is closely linked to the military history of Syria.”
He pointed out that the Syrian Armed forces serve their country in all circumstances and defend its freedom and independence with honesty and courage.
General Ignacyug hailed the great sacrifices offered by the Syrian Arab Army fighters, saying that as an initiative to express gratitude, this event was organized to honor the families of the martyrs and military personnel through presenting them a package of humanitarian aid.
He stressed that Russia will continue to stand by the Syrian people at all times.
For her part, the media director of the Syrian-Russian Peace Center Salwa Shaaban, told SANA that the army institution is the guarantor of peace and security in Syria, and it is the protector of honor, dignity and the homeland, noting that the Syrians have restored normal life thanks to this great institution.
For his part, Director of the Syrian-Russian Peace Initiative at the Syrian-Russian Center, Moatasem Najib pointed out that the center was opened three years ago for students of transitional classes and certificates being taught by a group of distinguished teachers with long experience.
He pointed out that a number of courses in the Russian language have been held at the center, noting that the families of martyrs have special discounts.
He explained that every year, excelled students are honored, especially the children of martyrs, military personnel and the wounded, noting that, today the number of honored male and female students reached 50.
As part of the initiative, a painting exhibition by artist Tamadur Haitham was opened. It showcased several artworks with various topics that glorified the heroism of the army and the steadfastness of the Syrian woman.
