Mansour: The Security Council is required to stop the occupation’s violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque

On April 6th, Palestine’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, called on the UN Security Council to shoulder its responsibilities and stop the Israeli occupation’s violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to preserve the legal and historical status quo in it.

Mansour explained that the Security Council will hold a closed session today to discuss the occupation’s attacks on Al-Aqsa and the worshipers and seclusions in it.

He said that the Council is required to ensure that these attacks are not repeated, respect international law and international humanitarian law, and preserve the legal and historical situation in Al-Aqsa.

Mansour stressed that Al-Aqsa Mosque, with its total area of 144 dunums, is an absolute, pureand sole right for Muslims to practice their religious rites, and no other party has the right to participate with them in it.

Mansour stressed that the Palestinians will not allow the occupation to implement its plans to Judaize Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling on the international community to support them in confronting the attacks of the occupation forces and settlers.
