Lebanese Army: “Our units have begun their missions to help the displaced return to their areas”

The Lebanese army has announced that its units began carrying out their missions in the south, the Bekaa, and the southern suburbs of Beirut to help the displaced return safely to their areas.
The army command said in a statement: “In parallel with strengthening the army’s deployment in the South Litani sector after the start of implementing the ceasefire agreement, military units have begun carrying out their missions in the south, the Bekaa, and the southern suburbs, including temporary checkpoints, road opening operations, and detonating unexploded ordnance”. The Command explained that these missions come within the context of the ongoing efforts made by the army to keep pace with the movement of the displaced, help them return to their villages and towns, and maintain their security and safety.
The ceasefire in Lebanon went into effect at dawn yesterday, as convoys of the displaced who were driven out of home by the Israeli aggression began to return to the southern villages and towns, while the occupation forces are targeting the returnees to prevent them from reaching those areas.
