Lavrov: ASEAN countries should realize the danger of deploying medium-and short-range missiles

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed his country’s concern about the agreement between the United States and South Korea on nuclear cooperation schemes.

Lavrov stated to reporters in the capital of Laos,Vientiane, today after the end of the ASEAN Business: “The ASEAN countries should understand the danger of deploying medium-and short-range missiles in the region”, stressing that his country has no illusions about the attitudes of Western countries on the settlement of the crisis in Ukraine.”

Lavrov pointed out that the proposal of former US president and candidate for the upcoming US presidential election Donald Trump to allocate a billion dollars to Ukraine if he wins elections under the terms of lending and leasing of American equipment is not considered a serious proposal for a settlement in Ukraine.

Lavrov reiterated Russia’s readiness to consider serious proposals on Ukraine that take into account the realities on the ground.
