Anna Kuznetsova, Deputy Speaker of the Russian State Duma and Deputy Secretary of the Central Committee of the United Russia Party, affirmed the continuation of cooperation with Syria in various fields, including the health sector.
Kuznetsova’s statement came at the end of her and the accompanying delegation’s visit to Tishreen University Hospital in Lattakia, during which they met with the Director General of the hospital, Dr. Louay Naddaf, and delivered a set of gifts for children provided by the Russian Christian Women’s Foundation.
Kuznetsova explained that this is not the first time she visits Syria, as she had previous cooperation in the field of family and child protection, but it is her first visit to the city of Lattakia after it was exposed to the earthquake, noting that the discussion with the hospital director focused on requirements, needs, difficulties and ways to overcome them, expressing at the same time Russia’s willingness to provide medicine and all necessary medical assistance to support the work of the hospital and other hospitals, in a way that contributes to improving the performance of the health system.
The Deputy Speaker of the State Duma thanked the doctors who provide assistance in various circumstances, stressing that a new batch of aid will arrive soon and will include medical equipment and baby food.
