Kanaani: Iran will not ask for permission to defend its national security

Tehran,(ST)- Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani stressed Iran’s determination and resolve to defend its sovereignty and national security, adding that the tripartite French-German-British statement which calls on Iran not to respond to the Zionist entity’s attacks on its sovereignty is very impudent.

Kanaani said today in a statement that the statement of the leaders of the three countries was issued in the light of the indifference of the Western countries, that support the Zionist entity, to the latter’s committing of all kinds of international crimes, including genocide and war crimes against the defenseless Palestinian people. He pointed out that the impunity of Zionist officials increases their impudence in committing the most heinous crimes at the international level.

Kanaani stressed that Iran is firm and determined in defending its sovereignty and national security, establishing sustainable stability in the region and creating deterrence against the real source of insecurity and terrorism in the region, and it will not ask permission from anyone to exercise its recognized rights.

“In the light of the failure of the United Nations and its Security Council, for more than ten months, to adopt a deterrent action against the criminal Zionist entity, this entity has escalated its crimes against the Palestinian people and its terrorism has crossed regional borders, and surprisingly, no practical and effective measures have been taken by Western countries, including Germany, France and England, to stop or deal with these crimes,” Kanaani added.

He explained that the three aforementioned countries, without presenting any objection to the crimes of the Zionist entity and its international crimes, are brazenly demanding that the Islamic Republic of Iran to not punish and deter this entity that violates its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He stressed that such demands lack political logic and are completely inconsistent with the principles and rules of international law, and represent public and practical support for the source of international crimes and terrorism in the region, and they encourage and reward the perpetrators of war crimes, genocide, crimes against humanity and terrorism.

Kanaani stressed that the inaction of governments and the UN Security Council in the face of the brutality of the treacherous Zionist entity, and the Western countries’ provision of broad political and military support to it, is the main factor in escalating the crisis in the region, He stressed that the supporters of the Zionist entity must stand up and bear responsibility against the ongoing crimes, which have crossed all red lines in Gaza and West Asia.
