Kanaani calls for international action to end the illegal presence of US occupation forces in Syria

Tehran, (ST) – Iran has reaffirmed that the presence of the American occupation forces in Syria is a flagrant violation of all international rights and laws, and it requires a serious and prompt response by the Security Council and the United Nations.

During a weekly press conference on Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said that Iran’s position is firm, and “we stress the need to take immediate measures regarding the illegal presence of American forces in Syria”.

Regarding the Israeli attacks on Syrian territories, Kanaani said that this entity has committed criminal and hostile acts against the sovereignty of Syria, and these Israeli attacks are a blatant violation of international law.

With regard to the criminal actions waged by this entity on the Palestinian territories, Kanani said that the Zionist entity’s transgression, abuse and desecration of sanctities, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque, proved once again that it would not miss any opportunity to continue its criminal aggression against the oppressed Palestinian people. He stressed the need for an international action in support for the Palestinian people.

Washington incites wars and destabilizes West Asia

On the other hand, Kanaani affirmed that the US administration is moving against the will of the peoples of West Asia, inciting wars and seeking to destabilize this region.

Kanaani wrote in a tweet, “The periodic announcement of news related to the deployment of American submarines, the movement of ships, or the deployment of bomber planes in West Asia at a time when the region is witnessing new equations to crystallize a new system in which there is no need for military forces from outside it is part of the US government’s attempts to cover the diminishing of its ability and influence in the world.

Kanaani added: Washington is moving in a direction contrary to the will of the peoples of the region by provoking wars and escalating instability and disputes in West Asia.
