On April 13th, Jordan renewed its call on “Israel” to respect the historical and legal status quo in the city of Al-Quds and its sanctities, and to refrain from any measures that would prejudice the freedom of worship in the holy places in the city.
“All Israeli measures, aimed at restricting the right of Christians to free and unrestricted access to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher next Saturday to practice their religious rituals, are rejected and condemned, and they must be stopped,” the Jordanian Petra News Agency quoted the Jordanian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ambassador Sinan Majali, as saying in a statement.
Majali indicated that Jordan will continue to take all possible steps to protect the holy sites and preserve the historical and legal status quo in Al-Quds.
