The Junior Chamber international ( JCI) in Lattakia has opened the nomination for the TOYP ( Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the world ) competition 2021 during an introductory session held at the headquarters of the Syrian Computer Society ( SCS) .
The Session included a detailed explanation about the competition, its categories and nomination criteria, in addition to introducing the winners’ achievements of the TOYP competition 2020 at the national level.
President of JCI in Lattakia Nour Dali indicated in a statement to SANA that the aim of this competition is to highlight the creative Syrian youths’ remarkable cultural, scientific, personal or voluntary achievements.
On her part , Dalia Suleiman, Head of the Board of Directors of JCI in Lattakia for the year 2021, said that the chamber opened the nomination for the competition for Syrian youths according to a set of conditions including that the age of the applicants which should be between 18-40 years in addition to realizing an achievement in the social or developmental fields.
She underlined that the nominees’ achievements also include initiatives to support children, world peace, human rights, leadership in volunteer and humanitarian work, as well as scientific or technical development and invention, indicating that the deadline for receiving candidacy applications is on March the 15th .
She stressed that reaching a world level by Syrian youths and honoring them on world platforms is firm evidence of the ability of Syrian youths to excel, give and produce.
It is noteworthy to mention that the JCI – Syria was established in 2004 under the supervision of the International Chamber of Commerce and includes seven local chambers in Damascus, Tartous, Aleppo, Sweida, Homs and Wadi, in addition to Lattakia.
JCI Lattakia was established in 2008 and currently includes 200 members. It implements various projects within the four work ranges including “Individuals, Society, Business and International Scope”.
