Italian and Czech tourist groups visit the ancient city of Bosra Al-Sham

Daraa, (ST) –  Two Italian groups arrived in the city of Bosra Al-Sham, comprising 32 tourists, doctors, retired engineers, and researchers in history and nature, in addition to persons who are interested in tourism.

The city of Bosra Al-Sham is witnessing a notable increase in the number of European delegations and tourist groups visiting it to see its historical castle and enjoy the beauty of its ancient city, which is one of the most important historical and cultural symbols and monuments in Syria.

Paolo Maldini, in charge of the two groups, expressed in a statement to SANA his absolute happiness with what he witnessed of landmarks which he described as wonderful. He also conveyed the admiration of his colleagues over this historical city, indicating that it was the first time they visit Bosra Al-Sham and that they expressed their desire to return to it in future visits.

A Czech tourist group 9 persons also visited the city of Bosra Al-Sham. They stressed the historical and urban importance of the Roman amphitheater which has been standing for nearly two thousand years.

The Director of Tourism in Daraa, Yasser Al-Saadi said that the continuous visits to the city of Bosra Al-Sham, especially the European one, are clear evidence of the importance and nobility of this historical city. He stressed the constant endeavor of the Ministry of Tourism and Daraa Governorate to continuously promote tourism and restore the glory of tourism to the ancient city.

For his part, Bosra Al-Sham City Council Chairman Suleiman Al-Shahma affirmed the continuous cooperation with the Tourism Directorate and the Department of Antiquities to provide the visitors with all facilities and information about the city and its history.

It is noteworthy that the city of Bosra Al-Sham includes 45 important archaeological sites inside and outside the ancient city.
