Israeli occupation’s repeated attacks on Syria and the region’s countries portends dangerous escalation, Foreign Ministry

Syria has stressed that the Israeli occupation’s continuous attacks on Syrian territories and on the region’s countries will lead to uncontrollable repercussions and unpredictable cosequences.

Syria has also warned that the continuity of the international silence over the Israeli attacks will undermine the United Nations’ ability to confront such violations of UN Charter and international legitimacy.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on Sunday that the Israeli occupation, at dawn on Sunday, July 14th, 2024, carried out a missile attack from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a number of military sites in the southern region, and a residential building in Kafr Sousa neighborhood in Damascus, which led to the martyrdom of a soldier and the wounding of three others,  and caused material damage to residential buildings and infrastructure.

Syria condemns in the strongest terms this brutal attack and calls on the United Nations to assume its responsibilities in putting an end to the systematic Israeli crimes and ending the Israeli occupation of Arab territories, the statement affirmed.

Syria also reiterates its firm right to defend its sovereignty and liberate its occupied land by all the legitimate means guaranteed by international law, the statement pointed out.
