Iran Calls on Security Council to Take Immediate and Decisive Measures to Force Israeli Occupation Entity to Stop its Terrorism

Iran stressed that the Israeli occupation entity poses a serious threat to international peace and security, calling on the international community, in particular the Security Council, to shoulder its responsibilities in holding this entity accountable.

In a letter to both UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Security Council President Pascal Christine, Iran’s Permanent Representative to the UN Amir Saeed Iravani said: “the terrorist acts of the Israeli entity, as well as its ongoing aggressions, are pushing the entire region to the brink of war, and the Security Council cannot remain silent on these crimes.”

Iravani stressed that Iran’s support for the resistance factions is entirely legitimate and is in conformity with international law, as these factions are waging a legal struggle against the brutal occupation and its continued aggression, and stressed that the resistance will continue as long as the Israeli entity continues its occupation and aggressions.

Iravani called on the Security Council to end the Israeli entity’s attacks, defend international law and restore peace and stability in the region, and called on the Council to take immediate and decisive action to compel this entity to cease its aggression and crimes in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria and to comply with all relevant Security Council resolutions.
