Humanitarian Cooperation between Syria and UAE Discussed

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Louay Al-Munajjid on Monday discussed with the Chargé d’ Affaires of the United Arab Emirates Embassy in Damascus Abdul Hakim Al-Nuaimi, ways of enhancing humanitarian cooperation between the two countries through the Syrian Arab Red Crescent Organization and the Emirates Red Crescent Authority.

The main current humanitarian needs to address the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck several Syrian governorates were also discussed during the meeting.

Al-Munajjid highly appreciated the UAE’s support to the Syrian people during the period of humanitarian response to the earthquake disaster, noting the importance of benefiting from the UAE’s experience in supporting entrepreneurial projects, as the UAE has outstanding experiences in this area at the Arab and international levels.

For his part, Al-Nuaimi stated that the United Arab Emirates will continue to help the Syrian people until they emerge from their ordeal. He pointed out that humanitarian assistance to various countries and peoples is a fundamental principle of the United Arab Emirates since its founding.
