Mogadishu (ST): Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud was elected president of Somalia for the second time, during the presidential elections that took place today in the House of Representatives.
According to the official Somali TV, Sheikh Mohamud received 165 votes, more than the number needed to win against outgoing President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed.
It is noteworthy that the Somali presidential elections are contested by 36 candidates.
