HASAKAH, April.18, (ST)- Hasakah Governor Ghassan Khalil received on Monday the delegation of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Syria headed by Marat Atamuradov.
The talks between the two sides dealt with the siege being imposed by the US-backed “Syrian Democratic Forces” militia on the residents of Hasakah and Qameshli cities.
The governor described the block of the entry of flour, fuel , foodstuffs, medicine and water tankers, as a” crime against humanity”.
He asserted the need to go ahead with cooperation with UNHCR to secure return of Syrian refugees to their homeland to participate in its reconstruction, and support the state’s efforts to overcome the unjust siege imposed on the Syrian people and to alleviate their suffering.
Khalil calked for the continuity of the UNHCR’s work far from politicization that some parties are trying to impose.
