Golanese demonstrate against settlement turbine scheme

Within the framework of the national protests against the Israeli occupation’s Judaization scheme to set up wind turbines on their agricultural lands, our people in the occupied Syrian Golan organized a protest demonstration with the aim of  reaching those lands threatened with confiscation in Suhaita, Al-Hafair and Al-Manfukha. These lands are owned by the residents of the villages of Majdal Shams, Masada, Beqatha and Ain Qaniya.

SANA’s reporter in the occupied Syrian Golan stated that the people of the Golan organized a protest demonstration by cars from their towns and villages, accompanied by a group of cavalry, reaching the Masnaa area, after which they walked on foot between apple and cherry orchards carrying banners condemning the Zionist scheme and raising the Syrian national flag.

The people of the occupied Syrian Golan renewed their rejection of any Zionist project on their lands, their readiness to resist it by all means, and their adherence to their belonging to their homeland Syria and their Syrian Arab identity.

Sheikh Nazih Mahmoud said that the Zionist scheme targets our existence as the sons of an occupied land. If confrontation with the occupation is inevitable, and it is the only way, then we will confront it and  defend our land, no matter how high the costs.

The wind turbine scheme is one of the most dangerous Judaizing colonial schemes targeting the occupied Syrian Golan, as it includes the seizure of more than six thousand dunums in three stages. It is considered a violation of all international laws and resolutions, foremost of which is Security Council Resolution No. 497 of 1981, which affirms that all occupation measures in Golan are null and void and have no legal effect.
