Gatilov: We will not trust the results of the investigation of the independent commission of the Human Rights Council on Ukraine

Moscow (ST): Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, Gennady Gatilov, announced that his country will not trust the results of the investigation of the independent commission of the UN Human Rights Council on Ukraine.

Gatilov told Russia 24 channel: “It is clear that the independent commission of inquiry that was formed by the Human Rights Council will turn the whole case in such a way that Russia is responsible for everything, so we refuse to talk and cooperate with it because the outcome of those investigations is clear to us.

He added: It is confirmed once again that the mission of the investigation committee is not limited to conducting an objective investigation, but rather is limited to creating an image of Russia as an outsider on the international scene and accusing it of all conceivable violations of all human rights standards, which we reject.

He stressed the need for the Commission’s investigation to include the events that took place in the Donbas region during the past eight years.
