Gatilov: The UN Commissioner for Human Rights practices double standards

New York (ST): Russia’s delegate to the United Nations in Geneva, Gennady Gatilov, announced that the UN Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, is practicing double standards by ignoring the violations that are taking place by the West.

Gatilov was quoted as saying by the Russian Novosti agency in a statement: “I regret that Türk continues to show double standards and political bias against countries that oppose a specific group of Western countries, and this once again casts doubt on the impartiality of the High Commissioner and his office”.

Gatilov drew attention to the fact that Turk expressed, in a letter to the Russian mission, his concern about the verdict issued by the Moscow City Court against Vladimir Kara-Murza without informing any of the Americans or the French missions about his concern about human rights violations.
