“From Ugarit to the World” an Artistic Dance Performance by the Gabala Troupe at the Jableh Archaeological Amphitheatre
Yesterday evening, the Gabala dance theater troupe presented an artistic performance entitled” From Ugarit to the world ” on the stage of the archaeological Roman amphitheater in the city of Jableh.
The event, which was held in cooperation with the Directorate of tourism in Latakia, included nine dance performances that opened with the oldest piece on the triple musical scale, namely the hymn “Nigal”, performances of Oriental, folk and contemporary dance, folklore and diverse heritage from the coastal, southern and eastern regions, in addition to performances from the ancient heritage of India, Spain and other cultures of other peoples associated with the ancient Syrian civilization through trade and cultural relations.
The band leader Afaf Abdullah explained the importance of this show as an idea for cultural and civilizational communication between peoples of different cultures and arts, pointing out that the aim of this show is to confirm that the Syrians are sons of an ancient civilization who have presented to the world the most important civilizational achievements such as numbers, musical scale and Alphabet.
