For The 5th day, SDF Separatist Militia Continues To Prevent Entry Of Food And Water Into Hasakah

Al-Hasakah-(ST)- The US-backed “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) separatist militia continued its siege of the city center of Al-Hasakah, and prevented the entry of flour, water and necessary food supplies to the residents in the city center for the fifth consecutive day.
SANA correspondent reported that the people of Hasaka city are living in tragic conditions for the fifth consecutive day, as the separatist Qasd militia continues to prevent the entry of food, water and flour to the people in the city center.

A number of residents confirmed that the water tanks spread in the center of Hasakah city have become empty as a result of the militia’s military checkpoints preventing the entry of tankers belonging to humanitarian organizations and bodies into the city, which prompted some families to drink water from wells in the area despite its unfitness for drinking and despite the fact that it may cause diseases.

Residents indicated that most shops have stopped selling due to the depletion of their stocks of food and supplies, and the wholesale market shops have closed due to the cessation of the supply of vegetables, fruits and other food items due to the practices of US-backed militia.

The quantities of bread have also reduced significantly due to the loss of flour in the bakeries and the inability to deliver it to the city’s bakeries, in addition to the fact that many private sector generators have stopped working due to the depletion of the fuel that operates them.

The Director of the Water Establishment Engineer Mohammad Othman explained to the SANA reporter that the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) managed to bring 20 water tanks into the city center last night, which is a very small quantity compared to the needs of the city’s residents, while the corporation is working to operate the water desalination plants spread in a number of public parks, which number 11 stations distributed in various areas of the city to provide additional quantities of water for the residents.
